ID Verification Failures & Resubmission Process

Follow these steps to reopen a failed ID verification and allow an applicant to resubmit their ID.

Overview

From time to time, applicants may not pass the ID verification step during the application process. When this happens, leasing teams often direct applicants to contact Payscore for assistance. However, applicants do not need to contact Payscore to resubmit their ID.

If an applicant does not pass ID verification, the leasing team can simply reopen the existing verification to allow the applicant to try again. This eliminates the need to create and send a new ID verification request, helping reduce delays and streamline the verification process.

Reopening an ID Verification

To allow an applicant to retry their ID verification:

  1. Navigate to the applicant's verification in the Payscore portal.

  2. Click on the applicant's ID Verification record.

  3. Select the three vertical dots (⋮) next to the ID verification.

  4. Click Reopen Verification.

The system will reset the ID verification and automatically notify the applicant so they can complete the verification again using the updated request.

Important Notes

  • Reopening the verification resets the applicant's previous ID verification attempt.

  • The applicant will automatically receive a notification prompting them to complete the ID verification again.

  • There is no need to create a new ID verification request when reopening an existing verification.

  • If the applicant continues to experience issues after retrying, have them contact Payscore Support through the chat in the applicant portal for assistance.
