Payscore provides automated income and ID verification — the fastest and most accurate way to verify an applicant. You can send your very first verification request in about 5 minutes using the portal.
This guide walks through the steps from start to finish.
Step 1 — Open the Verification Screen
Action: Click Add Applicants in the top right of the portal.
You’ll be taken to the Create Applicant Verification Requests page. This is where you enter applicant information and send them a verification invitation.
Step 2 — Enter Property Details
Fill in:
Choose a Property: Pick the property this verification is for
Choose a Unit: Enter the unit number the applicant is applying for
Monthly Rent: Use this to calculate income requirements
This ensures each request is tied to the right listing.
Step 3 — Add Applicants
To add an applicant:
Click Click here to add another applicant
Enter:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Phone Number
Select which verification requests (income and/or ID) you want to send
Sending a request immediately triggers an email invitation to the applicant.
If a phone number is entered, the applicant also gets a text message with the same link.
Step 4 — Create Combined Reports (Optional)
If you’re adding multiple applicants (e.g., roommates or co-applicants), you can generate a Combined Report.
A combined report aggregates all individual incomes into one total. It’s useful when evaluating household income against rent requirements.
Step 5 — Send the Request
After all required fields are complete, click Send Request.
Before sending, double-check applicant information — incorrect emails or phone numbers can delay completion.
Step 6 — Track Your Request
Once sent:
You can track the request’s status in the Payscore portal
You’ll receive an email notification when the applicant completes their verification
Click the applicant row to view details, including the activity log (chronological record of actions taken during the process)
Congratulations!
You’ve now successfully created and sent your first verification request using Payscore.
