Temporary ID Submissions for Identity Verification

Overview

Applicants may occasionally reach out stating they only have a temporary (paper) ID because they recently renewed their identification and are waiting for the permanent version to arrive. This is a common scenario, but it presents a limitation in the identity verification process.

Key Policy

Temporary or paper IDs cannot be used for identity verification.
Our system requires a valid, government-issued, permanent photo ID to successfully complete verification.

Why Temporary IDs Are Not Accepted

Temporary IDs typically:

  • Lack standardized security features required for verification

  • May not include a scannable barcode or consistent formatting

  • Are more difficult to authenticate reliably through automated systems

Because of these limitations, they are not supported by our verification process.

Role of the Leasing Team

In situations where an applicant cannot provide an acceptable ID:

  • The next steps are determined entirely by the leasing team and property policy

  • Applicants should be directed back to the leasing office for guidance on how to proceed

Summary

  • Temporary IDs are not supported for identity verification

  • No exceptions can be made within the system

  • Leasing teams determine how to proceed
