To complete identity verification, you must upload a valid, government-issued photo ID that is current and not expired.

The system verifies your identity by reviewing your ID and, in most cases, matching it with a live selfie for authenticity.

Commonly Accepted ID Types

The following types of government-issued photo identification are generally accepted:

  • Driver’s License (state or national)

  • Passport (passport book or passport card, where supported)

  • National ID Card

  • Residence Permit (in supported regions)

  • Visa or Work Permit (where applicable)

  • NFC-Enabled IDs (such as e-passports, when supported)

Your ID must:

  • Be government-issued

  • Include a clear photo

  • Be valid and not expired

  • Match the information you enter during verification

ID Requirements for a Successful Verification

For the best results:

  • Use a physical, official ID (not a photocopy or screenshot)

  • Ensure the image is clear and fully visible

  • Avoid glare, blur, or cropped edges

  • Make sure all text on the ID is readable

In most cases, you will also be asked to take a live selfie to confirm that the ID belongs to you.

IDs That Are Not Accepted

The following documents are not supported for identity verification:

  • Temporary IDs (such as temporary driver’s licenses)

  • Birth certificates

  • Military IDs

  • Non-government or unofficial identification

  • Expired IDs

Does My ID Need to Be REAL ID Compliant?

No. Your ID does not need to be REAL ID compliant (gold star) to be accepted.

As long as the ID is a valid, government-issued photo ID and is not expired, it can typically be used for identity verification.
