Entrata Integration Onboarding & Setup Guide

Step-by-step guide to enabling the Payscore Entrata integration

Payscore’s Entrata integration allows income and identity verification invitations to be sent automatically when applications are submitted—without requiring manual data entry or separate unit directory uploads.

Because this is a direct integration, unit directories are not required during onboarding.

Overview of the Setup Process

Setting up the Entrata integration involves three main steps:

  1. Creating a Vendor API user in Entrata

  2. Granting vendor and property permissions

  3. Enabling required webhook services

Once these steps are completed, the Payscore team will finalize configuration on our side.

Step 1: Create a Vendor API User (Admin Required)

An admin-level user in Entrata must first create a Vendor API user.

Instructions:

  1. Log in to Entrata as an Admin user

  2. Navigate to Apps → API Access

  3. Click Add API User

  4. Create a new Vendor API user for Payscore

This allows secure system-to-system communication between Entrata and Payscore.

Step 2: Enable Vendor API Access

Next, you will grant Payscore access as a vendor.

Instructions:

  1. In Apps → API Access, use the search feature

  2. Search for the Payscore vendor profile (or the specified vendor name provided during onboarding)

  3. Click the vendor profile

  4. Enable Vendor API access

This step authorizes the integration to receive application and workflow data.

Step 3: Grant Property Permissions

You must select which properties the integration should apply to.

Instructions:

  1. Within the Vendor API settings

  2. Select the properties you want Payscore to access

  3. Save your changes

Only selected properties will have automated verification workflows enabled.

Step 4: Configure Web Service Permissions (Recommended Defaults)

Entrata requires web service permissions to allow the integration to function properly.

Instructions:

  1. Navigate to Apps → API Access

  2. Locate the Payscore API user/profile

  3. Click Manage

  4. Go to the Web Service Permissions tab

  5. Leave default web service permissions enabled (recommended)

  6. Save your settings

Step 5: Enable Required Webhooks

Webhooks are required for real-time application event syncing.

Instructions:

  1. Go to Apps → API Access

  2. Search for the Payscore profile

  3. Click Manage

  4. Navigate to the Web Service Permissions tab

  5. Agree to the Entrata API Terms (checkbox required)

  6. Locate the webhook service:

    • oa.application.events

  7. Check the box to enable it

  8. Click Save

Enabling this webhook allows Payscore to automatically detect application events and trigger verification invitations.

Final Step: Payscore Configuration

After completing all Entrata setup steps:

  • Notify your Payscore representative or Customer Success team

  • A configuration request ticket will be created for engineering

  • Payscore will complete the backend setup on your account

The integration will not begin operating automatically until Payscore finishes this configuration step.

What Happens After Setup Is Complete

Once fully configured:

  • Verification invites can be sent automatically based on your workflow

  • Reports automatically upload into the applicant file

  • Leasing teams do not need to manually send verification invites

Important Notes

  • Admin-level access is required for all setup steps

  • Unit directories are not needed for this integration

  • Webhook enablement is critical for automatic workflows

  • Engineering setup on the Payscore side is required after Entrata configuration
