Why Did I Receive a “Cancelled Invite” Email?

Learn what a cancelled verification invite means and what to do next

If you receive a notification that your verification invite has been cancelled, it means the request was cancelled by the property manager or organization that sent the original verification request.

Payscore does not cancel verification requests on its own.

What a cancelled invite means

A cancelled invite indicates that the party reviewing your application (such as a property manager or leasing team) has chosen to cancel the verification request from their system.

This may happen if:

  • Your application status changed

  • A new verification request is being issued

  • The request was sent in error

  • The property updated or restarted their screening process

Why Payscore cannot provide the reason

Payscore only facilitates the verification process.

We do not control application decisions or screening workflows set by the property manager.

Because of this, we are not provided with the reason why an invite was cancelled.

What you should do next

If you received a cancelled invite email:

  1. Contact the property manager or leasing office directly

  2. Ask if a new verification request will be sent

  3. Confirm whether any additional steps are required for your application

They are the best source for clarification on next steps and application status.

Will I need to complete verification again?

Possibly. If the property manager still requires income or identity verification, they may send you a new invite with an updated link.

If you receive a new invite, you should complete the verification using the most recent link provided.

Important note

Cancelled invites are part of the property’s screening process and are not related to your bank, payroll, or document connection attempts within Payscore.
