If you don’t receive your income through direct deposit, you can still complete verification in most cases.

Payscore supports multiple ways to verify income, depending on what options are available for your application.

If you don’t use direct deposit

If you’re paid by check, cash, or another method:

  • If payroll verification is available, you can connect your payroll provider instead of a bank account. This allows Payscore to verify your income directly from your employer’s payroll system.

  • If payroll verification is not available, you may still be able to verify income by connecting a bank account that shows deposits or by providing additional context during verification.

The options you see depend on what the organization reviewing your application allows.

Using payroll verification (if available)

If payroll is offered as an option:

  • Select Connect payroll provider during verification

  • Sign in to your payroll system

  • Payscore will retrieve your pay data directly from payroll

This option works even if you don’t receive direct deposit into a bank account.

Using a bank account

If you connect a bank account:

  • Payscore looks for income-related deposits over time

  • This can include deposits from checks that you deposit manually

  • If income is irregular or limited, you may be able to add an explanation during verification
